Overview

QOps and SenseOps are close in scope. Both offer Git integration, CI/CD and deployment across environments. The difference is the approach.

SenseOps is no-code. Developers work in the SenseOps platform, which manages branches, deployments and testing without writing scripts. SenseOps also sells a wider product suite, including UI Builder, Alerting, Writeback, reporting extensions and AskSenseOps.

QOps is code-first. Its 72 PowerShell commands plug into any automation pipeline, and the QOps Portal (a local web app started with QOps-StartPortal) runs the same commands with a visual interface. QOps writes each Qlik app to readable files, which gives script-level diffs and lets an AI assistant work on the app through MCP.

SenseOps: multi-user, parallel development with master and child branches, merge workflows with conflict resolution, and approval notifications for merge requests. SenseOps: promotes apps, extensions and tasks between environments with governed build and release cycles (up to 6 connected environments on Enterprise), with single-click build progression and pre-defined checks. Names Jenkins and CircleCI for CI/CD pipelines; its pricing page lists CI/CD automation as an add-on on every plan, with webhooks. Maps production deployments to ITSM tickets such as JIRA, and can revert to a previous version.

QOps: CI/CD through PowerShell. Documented setups for GitLab Runners and GitHub Actions, and any CI tool that can run PowerShell can call the commands. Placeholders substitute environment-specific values at build time. Hook scripts in PowerShell can run before and after each command. A webhook lets CI trigger Publish or Release on the Portal.

Bottom line: both offer CI/CD. SenseOps is no-code with named CI integrations. QOps is scriptable, so you shape each pipeline step yourself.

Testing

SenseOps: automated regression testing on the Enterprise plan. It compares data, visuals, layouts and performance against a baseline, on its own or as part of deployment jobs.

QOps: QOps focuses on source control, build and deployment, and does not include a regression testing feature. Because every step runs in your pipeline, teams add the checks they already use as pipeline steps or hook scripts.

Bottom line: if built-in regression testing is a must, SenseOps Enterprise includes it.

Bottom line: QOps covers QlikView. SenseOps does not list it.

AI Features

SenseOps: AskSenseOps, a separate product for conversational answers across BI apps, databases and documents, with your choice of LLM. It can also be added to Claude, Copilot or other LLM tools as an MCP connector.

QOps: an MCP server lets an AI assistant read your repositories, change sheets, charts, master items, variables and load scripts in a live Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud app, and run Prepare, Build, Publish and Reload. Use the Portal's Chat panel with your own Claude or Gemini API key, or connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or another MCP client.

Bottom line: AskSenseOps helps people ask questions of their data. The QOps MCP server helps developers change, build and deploy Qlik apps.
